Got a machinehead better than the rest. And I walk from my machine...
Ok, so the lyrics to the song have absolutely nothing to do with the custom but I needed something catchy for the title. This week we have a four custom update!!

First is my original character Machine Head. His accessory piece is almost finished and it'll make more sense when it's done. Fans have emailed me over and over to do original characters so we'll see what I can come up with! Brick Ninja is my comedy line but this one, or whatever original stuff I make, will be on the serious side.

We also have a 25th Anniv Overkill GI Joe who's been given an updated look. HIS HEAD COMES OFF! I bet it could crawl around using the wires too, maybe latch on to some soldier and 'plug in' controlling him until Overkill finds a new body. There's also two new Halo customs, the Grifball Spartan Olympic Pro and a Corrupt Spartan. I was going to do another team set again but decided to do that next month. This month I'll make unique characters so you don't have to bid on a pair of figures. And yes, the Flood Infected Brute is in the works still.

Speaking of Brick Ninja, keep an eye out next week! I will be auctioning off ALL of the series 1 figures I've created. Yep, the whole original cast, even the BAF Pababooboo. I know some people want the whole set while others just want singles like Robo-Killer. I'll be putting them in seperate auctions with free combined shipping, so if you win the two or three you want (or all of them!) they won't cost you any extra shipping.

Now for this week's pics!

In other news my first step into the Designer Urban Vinyl is coming up! I was asked by Dynomight NYC if I'd like to participate in a custom toy show in New York. The Bumrush Custom show will take place on Saturday September 6th, 2008 at The Showroom NYC (The Showroom NYC - Toy Tokyo 117 2nd Avenue 2nd Floor NYC, NY). It will run for one night only from 7PM to 11pm.

My custom piece (named Cruderush) will be featured among many others and I believe you'll be able to bid/purchase the custom Rush figures there. I can't wait, I've never had anything of mine displayed at a show before... So thanks Dynomight NYC for giving me a chance to participate! I'm not sure if I can show pics of my custom or if I have to wait for the show, I'll find out.

Hey man, nice original custom. I have one on Figure Realm called Vulcan Spider-Man check him out. Nice corrupt Spartan, I really like the flames and how it looks like the armor is about to burst. Nice detail on the runes. See ya around Figure Realm...

Actually come to think of It the only that would've been cooler for the virus spartan is to have the usual yellow visor with the red "creaking" up onto it like a web or something.

Okayokayokay. Last comment, I promise. Couldn't the virus be some sort of I.A virus, since the I.A's are already embedded into the Spartan's armor? Like a system failure or an Unstable I.A? just a thought.

jointing two part together?

wow, that machine head is something else, really remind me of resident evil 3 (i think is 3) where you do a head shot and thoses scary looking bugs pops out, also a very old movie i think it was call "it" where they are also creapy looking alian that can copy everything they touch. So here is my question, how do you joint two items together that can also be easily detached and tolerate the constant on/off and be able to be posed? tutorial would be great, i know, i'm asking a lot, but i love your tutorials. anything would be helpful. thanks!

You mean like by using two very powerful rare earth magents from Gaussboys.com? That's how I hold a lot of limbs and legs in place where a regular ball-plug joint won't hold.

humm... rare earth magnets sound like a great idea, but are they strong enough to be posable? here is where i'm trying to go, i have a KO of the G1 devostator and he is not posable at all, i'm looking to somehow make him semi posable by doing what you do of combining different toys together.

do you know why universe sunstreaker has double joints?

it's because there is a retool of him called sideswipe(his red bro)

just a bit of trivia for everyone who doesn't know, and for those who do,ignore this

i am a big fan of your work and am especially impressed with youre machine head custom. it is amazing. i am a really big collector of SIC figures and i just gotta say that your custom rediculously cool. my one suggestion would be to give him some accessories and weapons. most of your other customs have many cool ones and i dont see why machine head should be left out. but MOST IMPORTANTLY, he looks like a rider so i say GIVE HIM A KICK ASS BIKE!

keep up the great work.

Oh man, they're pieces of all sorts of stuff. SW Tri-droid arms, claw from a Classics Devastator, Cobra Commander backpack, some Cobra BAT parts, etc.
