Wired for customizing!
Holy cheese I had my first phone interview this morning and it was with Wired Magazine! They apparently stumbled across my customs on EBay and asked, nay, demanded that I pony up for some exclusive chat. Wanna see the article? Head to Wired.com and I should still be on the first page. If not that link will take you right to the article. Every pic has more of the interview so check out all 12! Of course there's the classic mistake of them calling action figures 'dolls' but I think everyone does that unless you're in the figure collecting biz. I'll let it slide, cause like, it's Wired Magazine!

Ok, done tooting my horn. Back to customizing.

Wow... I was unaware some of your stuff was so popular until that article. Hell, I'm still speechless about that Blackout figure selling for so much. $3,400?! That is freaking epic, man. I've known swordmakers whose hammered-from-scratch blades didn't sell for that much, and they were actual weapons, not fancy toys!

Actual weapons are luxury toys in our culture. ;)

Not a bad collection! I used to have the Conan sword, that was my best, but these days I'm into Transformers.

Technically, two of the swords and one of the daggers are part of a katana set, but still.

Some people have major disposable income I guess! The same guy won a Barricade with lights from me for $1,300 later. Hey, I cannot complain, but it does mystify me.

I'm curious - where do you work, that you can afford not just your basic living expenses but also have enough coinage left over to buy all the figures and paints and epoxies and othersuch doodads for your customizing? Surely this must add up to quite a lot after a while, and I kinda doubt you sell thousand-plus-dollar figures very regularly...
